June is an international art fair and exhibition platform that has taken place annually since 2019.
Founded by galleries as an alternative to the conventional art fair viewing experience, June prioritizes an open format and distinguishes itself with a highly-selective, intergenerational group of participants amongst whom dialogue and collaboration is encouraged.
Just a brief walk from Messeplatz, the fair takes place in an iconic concrete bunker that has been beautifully transformed into a gallery by Pritzker Prize winning architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron. Its modest scale in relation to larger fairs and convenient location, in close proximity to Messeplatz and Art Basel, are notable attributes that make it a key destination during Basel Art Week.
The Landhof Community Garden beside the project reflects the independent, alternative and community oriented nature of the fair, cementing it as a place of tranquility and respite during a busy fair week, one that synthesises high quality presentations with the nature beside it to create a unique and unforgettable experience.
